Nestled in the idyllic village of Swinbrook, a short distance from Burford, this boutique 16th Century Cotswolds Inn offers authentic country charm, award-winning cuisine, and cosy accommodation with free Wi-Fi and parking. Perched by the banks of the attractive Windrush River and very much at the heart of the local village community, the Inn is infused with a strong, vibrant heritage and an enchanting ambiance. Originally built in 1680, the property harkens back to a bygone age of cosy log fires, locally produced real ales and wholesome food. Having been carefully restored and modernised, every effort has been taken to ensure that it still retains this traditional character and allure of its historic past. With friendly staff and locals alike, guests can always expect a warm welcome and a relaxed, sociable atmosphere far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Each of the six en-suite bedrooms are either housed in the buildings lovingly converted stone barn or above the Inn itself. Individually designed and furnished, they fuse classic and contemporary styles in a warm and cosy manner. Finished to the standard of a true Cotswold boutique hotel, it offers an authentic taste of luxury and elegance. All of the rooms are fully-equipped with all the necessary modern conveniences and amenities one would expect from a hotel of this calibre, including free Wi-Fi access, flat screen TV with Sky channels, and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a choice of Classic, Premier and Deluxe (Suite) Rooms, with some of the more luxurious options featuring magnificent Victorian roll-top baths, king-size beds and stunning views across the Orchard.Having garnered an impressive string of awards (including 2 AA Rosettes and the Good Pub Guide Oxfordshire Country Dining Pub of the Year' in 2009) the on-site pub and restaurant is every bit as momentous as the accommodation. The Hotel prides itself on providing the highest quality food, prepared using fresh, seasonal produce sourced from the surrounding area. Working in tandem with the local community they serve up a sumptuous range of classic British dishes created with a modern twist and a meticulous attention to detail. They also stock local beers and lagers from Cotswold Brewing Company and have been consistently featured in the Good Beer Guide, published by the Campaign for Real Ale. The bar area itself perfectly reflects the historic nature of the inn, featuring as it does solid flagstone floors, traditional oak settles and roaring log fires.Despite the inn's relatively peaceful location it is only a 3 minute drive from the A40 and just 7 minutes from the historic town of Burford. What's more, with free on-site parking it is both easily accessible and convenient. It is just a 35 minute drive to the city of Oxford, where visitors can expect to find excellent transport links to the rest of the country. There is also a local train station at Charlbury, an 11 minute taxi ride from the Inn. For those flying in, Birmingham Airport is approximately just under an hour and a half by road, or there's the smaller London Oxford Airport in Kidlington, a 35 minute drive away. The village of Swinbrook is a picturesque haven of traditional British country living and has remained seemingly unchanged for centuries now. A short distance away is the medieval market town of Burford, considered by many as the southern gateway to the Cotswolds. With its sloping streets, dignified houses and ancient cottages it offers a wealth of places to explore with old pubs, tea and antique shops a plenty. Further afield is the historic city of Oxford, renowned the world over for its vibrant heritage and cultural contributions. Whether visiting the spectacular Christ Church Cathedral, exploring the wonders at Ashmolean Museum or simply absorbing the many restaurants and cafes in the city of dreaming spires, there is always some new discovery around every corner. Further historic treasures can be seen at the magnificent Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and a recognised World Heritage Site. Surrounded by over 2,000 acres of landscaped parkland, the great lake and beautiful formal gardens it also features stunning gilded State Rooms and some of the finest collections in Europe. Just a brief drive from the Hotel is Daylesford Farm, committed to both quality and sustainability it offers only the finest and freshest organic produce. It also hosts a range of seasonal tastings, cookery demonstrations and workshops for both adults and children alike. For race fans, the town of Cheltenham is only a 30 minute drive away and plays host to the best jumping action in the world. Of course, what is perhaps most striking about the local area is the scenic wonder of the North Oxfordshire Cotswolds themselves. With miles upon miles of lovely walking countryside surrounded by rolling hills and idyllic limestone villages it truly deserves its status as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
